David Beebe kicked off his 30 plus year career in rock and roll with the roots rockin’ Banana Blender Surprise entertaining audiences all along the Gulf Coast! He launched The El Orbits, a lounge band that swings from Swamp Pop to Sinatra on a dime, after extensive touring with Banana Blender Surprise. David moved to Marfa, Texas in 2007 where he spends his time serving Presidio County as Justice of the Peace, cooking delicious food for his restaurant Bad Hombres, spinning records as a DJ on MPR (Marfa Public Radio), playing bass with border singer Primo Carrasco, and maximizing FUN!
Doug Sahm is at the pinnacle of David’s musical heroes list due to Sahm’s soul, authenticity, and anything goes approach to performing rock and roll, Tex-Mex, swamp pop, psychedelic, country, and jazz music. In 2017, Beebe recruited an all star backing band based out of the Continental Club in Houston featuring Pete Gordon on piano and New Orleans sax man Derek Huston. In accordance with a long held “no break” approach to rock and roll, all of the Beebe Sings Sahm shows last year were over 4 hours of continuous musical celebration and FUN for all of The Groovers!
