The El Orbits are one of Houston's most fun and best variety bands. After many years of performing every Monday night The Continental Club, The El Orbits now perform the third Wednesday of every month at the Hotel Sorella-Citycentre in the Monnalisa Bar from 7 to 11 pm. The band has released four CDs for Freedom Records and won multiple Best Cover Band awards from the Houston Press sincethe band's beginning in 1997. After many years at the helm of The El Orbits, David Beebe has moved to Marfa. Veteran El Orbits Tomas Escalante (lead vocals), Jim Henkel (guitar/vocals), Allen Hill (bass/vocals) and Eric C. Hughes (drums) are now in charge of the mellow lounge sounds that put a smile on everyone's face and keep the dancers dancing!
